I am woman, hear me whine.

Tuesday, November 30, 2004
My father always wanted a son. Instead, he got me and my sister. When my older sister was born, he knew they would try again, for a boy. When my mother was pregnant with me, my father was so sure that I would be a boy. He even had a $1000 bet with his brother that he would get a son this second time around. Needless to say, he lost the $1000, and got me. What a consolation prize, eh? My parents never even went for the third time's a charm try. They quit after 2. Snip snip. So from an early age, I always wanted to be a boy. I would always play with older boys in the neighborhood. Trying to outdo them. Which led to many an injury.

When I was 4, I thought I could switch from a little Barbie banana seat bicycle, (training wheels newly removed) to the neighbor boy's 10 speed. I did fine for a few minutes. But once my speed began to increase going down a rather steep incline, I flew over the handlebars. The gash in my knee was quite massive. The neighbor boy carried me home. Mom screamed and was ready to take me to the hospital. Dad said I was tough and I could handle it. He then proceeded to wrap an entire roll of toilet paper around my knee. "There, now people will think you're really hurt."

Once I turned 12 and my boobs started to grow, I decided I liked being a girl. And all my tomboy ways vanished. Until now. I'm sick of being a woman.

I am sick of shaving. My underarms, my legs, my nether regions.
I am sick of cramps, bloating, fatigue, mood swings. Period.
I am sick of ovaries.
I am sick of squatting. Let me pee standing up. Just once.
I am sick of being labeled a slut. A whore. A ho.
I am sick of hair products, make-up, clothes, and body image.

I want to go camping and leave my mark on a tree without having to straddle it. I want to belch, pass gas, and scratch myself all willy-nilly.

Ok, not really. I just wanted to whine. |

Food for thought.

Tuesday, November 23, 2004
Don't ya just love Thanksgiving? Well... don't ya just love food? On Thanksgiving Day, I am supposed to be at my Grandma's at noon. Spend a few hours there. Then I have to rush back home to cook Thanksgiving Dinner in time for the 7:30pm WVU - Pitt game. My menu still isn't complete. At one point my menu consisted of ham and 12 pies but my father thought that was a bit much. I'm so sorry I love pie. Ha.

Since it is only 2 days away... now is as good a time as any to give thanks. The short version.

I am thankful for my family. My friends. Music. Laughter. The sunshine. The ocean. Snow. Holiday cheer. Kindness. I am thankful for meeting such interesting and generous people through blogging. I am thankful for food. Mmm, food. I am thankful for having a friend such as him. I am thankful for all that there is and can be. I am thankful for all that I am and can be.

I am thankful for being alive.

I'll try to update my other blog momentarily. Because I doubt that I'll be online for the rest of this week. Happy Holidays to all that celebrate.

Now for a quiz...

20 Questions to a Better Relationship.

eXpressive: 6/10
Practical: 3/10
Physical: 9/10
Giver: 4/10

You are a XSYG--Expressive Sentimental Physical Giver. This makes you a Sex Bomb. You are sexy sex sex sex! The sexness! You are the sexiest, hottest and most charismatic of all types. You are a captivating speaker and a great dinner date -- relaxed, self-effacing, charming and generous. Your type probably has origins in something sad -- trying to keep the peace in a tough family situation, or an early heartbreak -- and you'll probably want to address and resolve that at some point, but in your relationships that heartache is pure gold!

You lie effortlessly -- not necessarily a bad thing. You can have problems with fidelity. You need frequent praise and validation, and in seeking it you can make decisions that aren't consistent with your general good judgment. In other words, don't cheat on your significant other just because someone is paying attention to you. You strongly dislike conflict, and will avoid it. Like an XPYG, you give so much of yourself to your partner that you feel dismissed and unappreciated if you don't get the same in return. But you internalize your feelings more and have a hard time getting over them. You don't *want* to cheat -- you just keep finding yourself in vulnerable situations. But you'll stay with your partner in the long run from guilt and a desire to please.

Your sex life will always be hot. You are one of the rare people who can keep the fires of passion going forever -- if you find a good match. Find another XSYG and you will never need (or want) anyone else again.

Of the 158171 people who have taken this quiz, 8.1 % are this type.

Cravings, quizzes, and a messed up schedule.

Wednesday, November 17, 2004
. I was supposed to be in Kentucky today. (Shriner's Hospital) My nephew had an appointment. Just a check-up really. But my mother was not able to watch my niece while I was away because her dad was admitted to the hospital last night. They're not exactly sure what is wrong with him just yet, but I'm hoping it isn't too serious. Everything is being rescheduled.

. My stomach feels bruised, like someone punched me. That's annoying.

. My niece keeps calling me Madame Poopski. (I do not know why.) That's too cute to be annoying.

. I'm craving cheesecake and I want to go shopping. Cherry cheesecake.

. I wish I had more time, I have about 20 songs in my head I want to download.

. I am gonna update my other blog. And do too many quizzes. Have a nice day, everyone. =)

. Quizzes stolen from Lori and Brandie.

DHedie
Congratulations! You are Edie Britt, the serial
divorcee whose romantic conquests have everyone
buzzing.

Which Desperate Housewife are you?
brought to you by

. Funny, considering the Monday Night Football Debacle. And... I've never seen the show. But I did see the segment aired continually on the news.

You are 80% Scorpio

How much do you match your zodiac sign?

I'm terza rima, and I talk and smile.
Where others lock their rhymes and thoughts away
I let mine out, and chatter all the while.

I'm rarely on my own - a wasted day
Is any day that's spent without a friend,
With nothing much to do or hear or say.

I like to be with people, and depend
On company for being entertained;
Which seems a good solution, in the end.

Bitchy. Sarcastic. Tired. But still Humorous.

Thursday, November 11, 2004
. I'm tired all the time. Whenever I get a break from the kids, I am lounging in a bed, on the couch. Anywhere that is comfortable. My stomach hurts all the time. Kinda crampy, kinda nauseating. I cry all the time. Mostly watching TV. Even 'The Waterboy' makes me cry. I can't drink alcohol. After 3 drinks, I'm sick as all hell and need to sleep. I haven't been out in a month. I want to physically harm someone. I want to hit something or someone until I can no longer move. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was pregnant(or I'm in need of a very good shrink). Which is certainly possible, just not likely. It's more along the lines of "shouldn't", not "can't". Yeah... I know. I will get it checked out. Just not right away. No news is good news, mmhmm? I still think I need the shrink.

. I tried to dye my hair a dark brown. It turned more like a coal black. My niece wants to know why I have 'beautiful witch hair'. Funny. It'll be blonde again in a week. I'm lucky I still have hair. So many products, so little time.

. WVU lost again, which may have ended our chances for the Big East title. And the Sugar or Fiesta Bowl. I broke many things watching that game. Must move on.

. Shwa will be gone in a week and a half. I miss him already.

. I was so frustrated the other night, I actually looked up at the sky and screamed... "I just need a little help. RIGHT NOW, I NEED A LITTLE HELP." It started raining. Guess he thought I was dirty.

. I think I'll make pepperoni rolls tonight, and immerse myself in bad MTV reality shows.

. Things will get better, things do get better. But if you don't keep that sense of humor, you will become a serial killer. - Advice from a friend. How sweet.

Sleep to dream. Dream to sleep.

Wednesday, November 10, 2004
. Yes, yes. I've been oh so busy. Kids. Upcoming holidays. Family. Drama. Kids. Cleaning. Kids. Never. Have. Enough. Sleep. Kids. I thought about taking a break from blogging, but I'll ponder on the idea for a bit more. I updated Theater Thursday, but didn't send out the notify because I lost my list and Barry is out of town. Oops. Sorry about that.

. You can still help me get an iPod.(Only available to U.S. residents.)I know some people say it is a scam or they are skeptical, but 2 of my friends have already received their iPods. So, I'm still begging for 5 people to sign up. I think I have 3. So...Please, please, please. =)

. My best male friend is moving. Shwa got a better job opportunity so he will be moving in a week. We're having a going away party Friday. I am very blue about it, but I respect his decision. =(

. I'm hungry.

. My niece has been astounding me with the things that come out of her mouth lately. Here are just 2 of the things she has said over the last 2 weeks. (I'm lazy.)And... she's 3, folks.

My mom smelled something nasty and said... "gag me with a spoon." My niece
responded with..."Gag me with a fork."

My Aunt wasn't feeling well, so my niece asks her what she needs. My Aunt
says, "a brain." My niece responds with... "Papa's brain is in his butt."

. Anyways... that's all I've got for today. I'll update both blogs tomorrow if I get the chance. |

Please, please, please. & ass.

Friday, November 05, 2004
. I want an iPod. And I can get a free one if 5 people would just sign up and complete one offer with me as a referral. Then you can get 5 people and you can get a free one. C'mon, help me out. Money is tight ya'know. Having had to take in 2 kids. So please, please, please, click this link and help me get an iPod. I'll give ya lots of link love, and comment love, and and and... any other kind of love I can give ya.

Sad seeing a grown woman beg, ain't it? Well, grown isn't exactly the appropriate term, eh?

Hey-
Check out this great site that is giving away totally free iPods! I've joined and I think you should as well. It's a completely legitimate offer, and this company has already given away $4 million in free stuff!

All you have to do is join, complete and online offer, and refer friends to do the same. That's it!

Here is my referral link. To help me get my iPod, click this exact link to join, or copy and paste it into a browser:

http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=11505796

It's gotta be that link, or the highlighted one up there or I won't get credited for a referral. Thanks much. AND... it's only available to U.S. residents. I am sorry that I failed to mention that before I updated this. That really sucks for my international readers, like Daphne. But thanks for trying. You're a sweetheart.

And just to let ya know I didn't post an entire entry just to get free stuff... I'll add some ass. Yeah... ass.

ASS.

Life is all about ass.

You're either covering your ass. Laughing your ass off. Kicking ass. Kissing ass. Busting your ass. Trying to get a piece of ass. Or behaving like an ass.

. That last one would be me. But still, help a sister out. Have a great weekend, y'all. |

I have a teenager living inside of me.

Thursday, November 04, 2004
. No, I'm not unnaturally pregnant. I still think I'm 16. I really do. I act like a teenager. I talk like a teenager. So for the last week, when I have free time to get on the internet, I have been surfing Seventeen magazine's website. They have over 50 quizzes that tell you all about your style, personality, friends, etc. And of course, I did over half of them. This, my friends, is what I've learned about my teenage self...

If I went to the prom with a celebrity, it would be with Heath Ledger.

I am periodically perceptive when it comes to menstruation.

My future career will be in Journalism. (Which is quite interesting, considering that that has been my major for the last 2 years. Yet I've decided to change it when I go back in the Spring, having recently taken a semester off for personal reasons.)

My bra personality is sporty. (Yes, my bra personality.)

If I was a character from the WB, I would be Lana Lang from Smallville.

I am a gold star friend.

My result on the "Are You Hot"? quiz was... Feeling The Heat.

When it comes to my knowledge of boys and their bodies and minds, I am a Master of the Male Species.

The reality show that is most like my life is The Real World: Philadelphia.

Am I a Free Spirit? I'm Like A Bird.

The celebrities whose style most resemble mine... Drew Barrymore & Kirsten Dunst.

I love and hate my body. Yes, it is a love/hate relationship.

I'm Swimming in the Shallow End when it comes to the importance of looks.

My theme song should be Pink's "GOD is a DJ".

The signal I send to guys : "I'm Unapproachable."

I should always wear green eyeshadow.

. Wasn't that fun? Mmhmm. And with magazine articles in mind... Brandie posted a funny entry about the strange things men do for an orgasm.

. Now for Theater Thursday.

Week 24 - The Classics.

Everyone has their own idea of what a classic movie is. Most would put films such as The Wizard Of Oz, Casablanca, and The Godfather on the classics list. We want to know what you think. So this week, there is just one question. What is classic to you?

Give us your list of YOUR top 10 "classic" films.

(In no particular order and not exactly 10.)
1. Wizard of Oz.
2. Beauty and the Beast.
3. Little Mermaid.
4. Stand By Me.
5. Shawshank Redemption.
6. Star Wars Trilogy.
7. Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
8. Dirty Dancing.
9. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
10. Jaws.
11. The Usual Suspects.
12. Princess Bride.
13. The Stand.
14. E.T.
15. Dazed and Confused.

The masses are asses.

Wednesday, November 03, 2004
. First of all, the first and final thing I'm going to say about the election is... I hope the next 4 years are better than the last 4. Well, besides the title of my entry. Which wasn't meant to be rude. Heh.

. I updated my other blog. It's quite graphic. You have been warned.

. Somebody left a bizarre little message on my shout box which has been deleted. Simply put, the message said... "stick it in my ass." What exactly would you like stuck in your bum? A shoe, a bat, a rectal thermometer? Anyway, I have your IP address. Let's play nice from now on, k? And I hope you have any and all rectal issues sorted out.

. Yeah. I've been in a pretty foul mood for the past week. Sorry if my posts have been a bit angry. I'm just venting. It's healthy, no? But I'm starting to feel better. Alert the press. Now I'm gonna do a meme.

That should about do it.

Monday, November 01, 2004
. It really is November already, huh? My dad's birthday is November 7th. He'll be 52. What could I possibly buy for him? I hate gift shopping.

. Election day is tomorrow. Thank goodness it's almost over. Don't forget to vote. And then... let us never discuss it again. Heh. We can only hope it's not a repeat of 4 years ago.

. Miss Tay had the idea of listing our turn ons/offs for all the BlogExplosion folks. So here goes...

Turn Ons & Offs - All in one condensed (steaming) pile.
  • MUSIC. I love music. Any and all music.

  • HUMOR. I love to laugh. Make me laugh and you've got me forever.

  • LIFE. I want to hear about your life. Not about what you think about other's lives.

  • DRAMA. Reading about other's drama can be intersting. I just don't want any.

  • QUIZZES, MEMES, TESTS. Yes, I get bored sometimes, and I will do these when I feel the need.

  • SIGHT. I like to be able to see the blog I am reading.

  • KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. It's fine if you want to tell me who it is that you voted for, but do not try to shove your political views down my throat. I'm really not that interested. Same goes for religion. I respect your opinion, THE FIRST TIME.

  • KISS. Keep it simple stupid. I do not need an 8000 word diatribe on the pleasantries of milking a cow.

  • HELP&DESIGN. I love new layouts. I love looking at all the beautiful layouts. Yet, I am computer illiterate. So anyone that would just love to make me a new layout and do all the work by yourself with nothing but a thank you and a link back from me... YOU ARE THE ONE I AM LOOKING FOR.

  • There ya go...

. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving. I want a real excuse to pig out. And Christmas. I don't want any gifts. Just bring on the ham and pies. (I'm very hungry right now.) I want to bake cookies and pies, turkey and ham. I want noodles, and rolls. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Green beans. I'll pass on the stuffing, yams, and cranberry crap. I better go eat.
